Defeated elements’ allegations pack of lies: Shahbaz

Says outages will end by start of 2018; those who talked about corruption are surrounded by those who got billions of loans written off, occupied land]

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif due to which the destiny of the country is about to be changed and outages will end with the completion of energy projects by the start of 2018.

He said all development projects launched by the PML-N government are the great example of transparency, and the speed and transparency with which all mega projects are being completed are matchless in 70 years history of Pakistan and even any opponent cannot point the finger at the transparency of projects.He said PM Nawaz Sharif has spent national resources on the development and progress of the country transparently while the rulers in the past made records of corruption.

He said the people of Pakistan knew that allegations of the defeated elements are pack of lies. He said those who talked about corruption are surrounded by the people who got loans written off worth billions of rupees and who had illegally occupied lands in nearby areas of Lahore. He said those who got loans written off and who occupied the lands have no justification to provoke outcry against corruption and this is like criminals accusing others.

He said why does Niazi Sahib not see those who got hefty loans written off and land grabbers. He said those who had tried to stop development process and locked down Islamabad had already been defeated and such elements had failed to stop prosperity of people and the development process of the country.

Talking to the newly-elected representatives of the PML-N who called on him, the chief minister said economy was strengthening due to the policies of the PML-N government and lakhs of new employment opportunities were being created while defeated elements were only frightened of the speedy development.

He said three gas-based energy projects of 3,600mw were about to be completed in the record period of 27 months and energy will start producing from these projects while the Bhikki power project is producing 717mw in 18 months.

He said the PML-N government had saved Rs112 billion by ensuring transparency in energy projects, adding gas-based energy projects were producing cheap electricity. He said we have to hold strict accountability of those who looted national wealth mercilessly and got loans written-off.
