Sindh offers setting up training academy for journalists
By: PPIKARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that Sindh government was ready to establish a `Journalists Training Academy' at Karachi University if media houses and senior journalists extend support.
Addressing at World Press Freedom Day program at a local hotel, he said that there are no proper arrangements for training of reporters, editorial staff and other newsmen.
“The Sindh government would establish a training academy at Mass Communication Department of University of Karachi if media houses, press clubs and senior journalists support us,” he said.
He asked for unity among working journalists, adding strengthening of democracy is linked to free media. He said that his government is financially assisting press clubs and newsmen but the media houses and owners of channels do not play their due role in this regard.
