Shahbaz Sharif sends legal notice to Imran

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent a legal notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Iman Khan over his claim that he was offered Rs10 billio by a man close to the former for keeping silence over Panama Papers case.

Sent though his lawyer, the letter asks the PTI chief to apologise within 14 days or else the matter would be taken to court of law.

According to Geo News, the notice has been sent under The Defamation Ordinance, 2002 and Pakistan Penal Code, 1860.

Though Khan had not named Sharif, he had claimed the bribe was offer by man close to the Punjab chief minister.

The Nawaz-league had rejected Khan’s allegations.

Imran Khan has long been accusing the ruling party leaders of corruption and election rigging.

He has staged a number of protests and sit-ins following the general election of 2013 to get his demands met.
