KARACHI: As many as 25 international wrestlers from 20 countries including WWE superstars will be seen in action in Karachi tonight to entertain Karachiites.

The wrestling superstars will compete in what would be the first ever international professional wrestling event -- the World Heavy Weight Pro-Wrestling Competition -- in Pakistan at Karachi Sports Complex tonight.

As many as 25 international wrestlers including France-based wrestler of Pakistani origin, Badshah Khan, Tiny Iron, Yacine Osmani, WWE star and English actor Wade Barrett, and wrestling legend in Europe, Flesh Gordon and many others including four female wrestlers would be a part of the mega event.

The female wrestlers include Audrey Bride, Angel’s Bombita and Betty Trash.

The pro-wrestling competition will also be held in Lahore on May 19 and in Islamabad on May 21.

Foolproof security arrangements have been made to make this tournament successful.

A senior official of the Pro Wrestling Entertainment (PWE) Shahid-ul-Haq told ‘The News’ on Tuesday that 19 wrestlers had reached Karachi while six from the United States and Canada would arrive early Wednesday (today).

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Mayor and Sindh Sports Minister would be present at the opening ceremony to be held at 6pm.

The number of wrestlers from France was more. The step would help attract people towards the game.

Wade Barrett said that it was wonderful to be in Pakistan and he was looking forward to the magical competitions.

Badshah Pahalwan told reporters here at the Jinnah International Airport that they were going to make history and they would show it to the world that Pakistan also had the ability to stage such events.
