Minister urges people to show unity to foil conspiracies against democracy

SIALKOT – Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Asif on Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government would fulfill its responsibility and commitments to steer Pakistan out of energy crisis.

Talking to APP here on Sunday, he said that the government was making strenuous efforts to minimize the load-shedding and bringing improvement by reducing line losses. The minister said that difference of opinion was beauty of democracy and it always helped to strengthen democracy, adding unfortunately some elements were trying to jeopardizing the system through negative political activities.

He said that PML-N emerged a strong political party of Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The minister also said that the ultimate goal of democracy was to ensure dignity and fundamental rights of individuals, provision of social justice as well as socio-economic uplift of Pakistan and PML-N was working on this agenda.

He said that protection of constitution, parliament and democracy was top on agenda of the political parties. He said that sit-ins were serious threats to national economy due to which many agreements with foriegn investors could not be signed.

The Minister urged the people to show unity to foil conspiracies against democracy. He appealed the masses to demonstrate unity and brotherhood during the holy month of Muharram.
