Business community hails petroleum price reduction

KARACHI: Business community welcoming substantial fall in the prices of petroleum products termed it a gift from the federal government to the public.
Leading businessmen are of the view this commendable step by the government would help cut household expenses of the common man to a great extent.
However they called upon the provincial governments to take measures for a reduction in transport fares and the rates of daily-use items.
Yahya Polani Chairman of Aviation Committee of the Federation of the Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry called upon the authorities concerned to take measures so that common people could be benefited from this price reduction.
Zubair Motiwala urged the authorities concerned to force the transporters to reduce fares as per cut in petroleum prices.
All Karachi Tajir Itehad’s Chairman Atiq Mir said this step would increase economic activities. Jodia Bazaar Traders Association’s Secretary General Abdul Qadir Noorani, All Karachi Anjuman Tajraan’s President Rafiq Jadoon and other businessmen said the cut in prices would reduce business cost and help improving the economy.
