German envoy meets Shahbaz

LAHORE – Ambassador of Germany in Pakistan Dr Cyrill Nunn called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Monday and discussed matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation in different sectors.

Talking to the German ambassador, Shahbaz said that Germany and Pakistan had close friendly ties and trade relations, however, there was a need to further promote economic relations between the two countries. The visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Germany would further expand relations between Pakistan and Germany he said.

He said there was a need for promoting contacts between businessmen of Pakistan and Germany and there should be greater exchange of trade delegations. He said that Pakistan rendered innumerable sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the whole Pakistani nation was united against terrorists.

He said that a number of precious human lives lost in the tragic incident at Wahga Boarder and the Pakistani nation was in grief. German Ambassador Dr Cyrill said that Germany wanted to promote cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors. He also condemned Wahga tragedy and expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives.
