No mob justice in Islam: Pervez Elahi

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) senior leader and former deputy premier Ch Parvez Elahi has said that every Pakistani including the minorities were fearful of the worst law and order situation “due to incompetence of the rulers”.
Elahi said this while talking to party and the minority wing workers who met him at his residence on Sunday. He said, “During five years of our government in Punjab, proper policy was framed for protection of life and property of every Pakistani and it was duly implemented, effective steps were also taken to protect the minorities from the miscreants.”
He maintained there was no concept of “mob justice” in Islam, constitution and law; which means that no group of people could decide about labelling an accused a criminal and punishing him, nor this was solution to any problem.
Elahi said that according to the official facts and figures all sorts of crime incidents had increased manifold during the PML-N rule as compared to his government and every citizen particularly the minorities considered themselves unsafe.
