Efforts to derail Pakistan failed: PM Nawaz

LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that efforts to place hurdles in the path of Pakistan’s development had failed. “These efforts were made to derail Pakistan, not finish our government.”

Speaking to the media after attending the Pak-Britain Energy Conference, Prime Minister Sharif added that “darkness was ending and Pakistan was moving towards light.” He further said that everyone had to work together to overcome the energy crisis.

In his address during the energy conference, Prime Minister Sharif said Pakistan wanted to play the role of facilitator not administrator. The prime minister added that the energy conference had provided opportunity for experts and investors to come closer. The prime minister also expressed hope that the energy conference would prove to be extremely useful.

Prime Minister Sharif stressed that Pakistan offered immense opportunity for investment in the energy sector.
