LG polls: Army deployment proposed for 5 districts of Sindh
HYDERABAD: It has been proposed to deploy army personnel in five districts of Sindh including Hyderabad during the second phase of by Local Government elections.
A high level meeting was held here with Secretary Election Commission Sindh, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad in the chair. Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh, Tanvir Zaki, Joint Election Commissioner Atta-ur-Rehman, Additional Home Secretary Sindh and IG Sindh Police were in attendance.
A briefing was given to the attendees of the meeting on arrangements for the upcoming LG polls by the concerned district commissioners and officials.
During the meeting the District Returning Officers (DROs) from Hyderabad, Noshero Feroz, Badin, Thatta and Sanghar demanded deployment of army personnel during the second phase of LG polls.
