Corps Commanders discuss army chief’s US visit
Gen Sharif directs early return of temporarily displaced persons

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday chaired a Corps Commanders conference here at the General Headquarters, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to tweets by ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa, the forum reviewed internal security situation of the country. The participants also appreciated the results of military operations being conducted across the country.

The army chief said that the whole nation acknowledged the ongoing military operations against terrorism. He, however, underlined the need for complimentary governance.

The forum also reviewed progress of the national action plan and finalised reforms pertaining to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). The army chief also directed the officials concerned to expedite the return of the temporarily displaced persons (TDPs).

The participants also discussed the upcoming visit of General Sharif to the United States. According to a tweet, the army chief would highlight Pakistan’s perspective of “new emerging regional realities” during his meeting with top American political and military leadership.
