‘Good governance’ statement wasn’t directed at Sindh only: Khuhro

KARACHI: Dismissing Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch’s statement suggesting the Army Chief’s remarks about ‘good governance’ were for Sindh government, provincial information minister Nisar Khuhro Thursday said it was in fact directed towards all governments.

Speaking in Geo News show ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’, Khuhro said it was not right to say that the high-level observation was only for Sindh. “The matter of improving governance is for all governments,” he said.

Baloch had earlier said that Army’s statement was regarding Rs240 billion corruption being taken place in Karachi, on which according to him, the Sindh government failed to take any action.

Lauding Rangers efforts in Karachi, Nisar Khuhro said civilians and Sindh government appreciate the actions taken by the paramilitary force for the restoration of peace in the city.

“Gone are the days when strikes were observed in Karachi,” he said in reply to a question.

The minister added that the PPP government had never tried to create hindrances in the way of ongoing operation in the Sindh capital.
