Governor says LG polls results show public trust on PML-N govt

KHANEWAL - Punjab Governor Rafiq Ahmad Rajwana said that first and second phase of the local bodies polls resulted in defeat to political rivals of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and described it was trust by the people on the policies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing a ceremony after inauguration of Multan-Khanewal section of M4 Motorway by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday, the governor expressed happiness over the completion of the project and thanked the prime minister for continuing a ceaseless process of development focusing all parts of the country including South Punjab. He praised the prime minister’s passion to serve the people and his desire to upgrade infrastructure which would help the people to share fruit of development and improve business activity.

Punjab governor said that Multan-Khanewal section of Motorway was the fifth project he personally witnessed the Prime Minister Nawaz inaugurating. These projects show commitment of the government to overpower problem confronting the country in all sectors, he said.

He said that after triumph in 2013 general elections, people have again reposed trust in PML-N government by giving majority support to the party in first and second phase of local bodies elections.

He said that the government was taking special interest in uplifting health, education and other sectors in South Punjab, adding that the area still need more funding for development. He said that proposals for more development schemes would be sent to the government for South Punjab uplift and hoped that the process of development would continue to benefit the people.

Governor said that prudent policies of the government, on-going success in fight against terrorism and improvement in security situation in Karachi had restored the confidence of investors. He said that investment was poring into the country by virtue of overall improvement brought about by the government. He also praised Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for attracting foreign investment and upgrading facilities in Punjab.
