Now even families of PM, President visit passport offices: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Thursday claimed that old traditions have died down and today even the families of Prime Minister and President also visit offices for seeking passports.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Nisar said the doorstep delivery of passports has been started in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Chaudhry Nisar admitted that foreigners do work at National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), adding they were hired on recommendations of the Parliamentarians. “Names of these Parliamentarians will be forward to the Speaker of National Assembly and Chairman Senate,” he added.

The Interior Minister proposed that performance of every ministry should also be presented before the Parliament.

He said the performance will improve and people’s confidence will build only in a situation where their problems are discussed and when there is criticism and accountability.
