British authorities refuse to share bank details of Sharif family

LAHORE: British authorities on Saturday have refused to share the details of bank accounts of the Sharif family with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan.

NAB officials had written a letter to the authorities, seeking the details of the bank accounts which were used in running the off-shore companies owned by the Sharif family.

However, the authorities turned down the NAB’s request claiming it is unclear what is exactly being asked in the letter.

NAB is investigating the corruption allegations on the Sharif family and had filed three corruption references against them in line with the Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama case.

NAB official are unhappy with the refusal of British authorities to share the family’s bank account details, sources claimed.
