Shahbaz urges India to join hands to counter smog

LAHORE: In a letter to his Indian counterpart, Captain (r) Amarinder Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that collective effort was required to counter smog.

Shahbaz wrote that the smog for two years, smog has appeared in the months of October and November and has been the cause of damage to agriculture due to the delay in sowing and to human life through road accidents because of low visibility.

He highlighted the major causes of smog and urged his Indian counterpart to join hands to counter the problem. He told him that it was in the best interest in the people of both countries if they collectively counter smog because the people on both sides of Punjab have to suffer the most every year because of smog and environmental pollution.
