British High Commissioner meets CM, Governor Punjab

LAHORE: British High Commissioner Philip Barton met with the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar to discuss and promote bilateral relationship on Friday, Geo News reported.

On the occasion, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Britain enjoy a historic and friendly relationship as Britain has been a significant trade partner of Pakistan and its cooperation in education, health and other sectors is encouraging.

Furthermore, he said that Skill Development Program is successfully running in Punjab with the assistance of Department for International Development (DFID) and Punjab has achieved satisfactory outcomes regarding school reform roadmap.

Shahbaz Sharif also told that extensive public health program has also been initiated.

Philip Barton said Britain gives a lot of importance to its relationship with Pakistan and would continue collaborating in the country’s progress and development.

He also met with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and discussed the current political situation.
