Accused in Zahra Shahid murder case produced in ATC
KARACHI: Two accused, who were arrested by police in connection with the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid, were produced in anti-terrorism court (ATC) amid tight security on Friday.
Two accused involved in the murder of Zahra Shahid named Rashid aka Master and Zahid Abbas Zaidi, were presented in the ATC before Judge Salim Raza Baloch today.
Both the murderers were brought in bullet-proof vests due to the security concerns.
During the hearing, police requested for remand to complete the investigation from the accused. Accepting the police request, the accused were remanded for seven days in police custody.
One of the accused Zahid Abbas was arrested yesterday from Boat Basin area of Karachi. Police said he belonged to a political party.
PTI leader Zahra Shahid was shot dead in front of her house a night before re-election on NA-250 elections in May 2013.
