PM Nawaz visits Miranshah to review Zarb-e-Azb

MIRANSHAH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Miranshah in North Waziristan Agency to review the on-going operation Zarb-e-Azb on Thursday, Geo News reported.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif received him upon his arrival in Miranshah.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Prime Minister was briefed about the operation Zarb-e-Azb during which he was told that 90% of the area has been secured by the military. He was also shown weapons and explosives recovered from the terrorists.

During his address, Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif said the Pakistan Army was fighting a war against a enemy which was hidden and carrying out attacks.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid tributes to soldiers and officers fighting a difficult war to secure Pakistan's future and make the country safe and secure. The prime minister praised Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, saying the war was being fought successfully under his leadership.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mehtab Abbassi also accompanied the premier.

It may be mentioned that the visit is of historic importance as Nawaz Sharif is the first ever premier to visit Miranshah.
