Attempt to free terrorists from Central Jail foiled

KARACHI: An attempt to free terrorists from the Central Jail was foiled by Rangers. Deputy Director General Rangers, Colonel Tahir told reporters that terrorists were digging a tunnel from a nearby house in Ghousia Colony to launch an attack and release prisoners from the jail.

Colonel Tahir said the attempt was foiled after Rangers received intelligence and several terrorists had been arrested. “The terrorists had dug 45 metres and were arrested with ten metres remaining.”

The Deputy DG Rangers informed media that the house was recently purchased by terrorists who were using the latest equipment to dig the tunnel. He added the target of the jailbreak was a barrack where terrorists from banned organsations are imprisoned.

The Deputy DG Rangers thanked people for their help in foiling this attempt.
