Anti-judiciary banners case: SC rejects police report

ISLAMABAD: A three member bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal resumed hearing of the anti-judiciary banners case at the Supreme Court on Monday.

During proceedings the confidential report presented by the police was rejected by the apex court. Justice Afzal remarked that the investigation regarding the banners should be transparent.

The SC observed that any facts pertaining to the case should be presented in open court, adding that the apex court did not believe in confidential reports.

The sealed police report was returned to the Additional Attorney General who requested that the apex court read it and decide if the report should be kept confidential.

The apex court also directed the federation to present a report pertaining to the issue in open court.
