APP

SIALKOT - Minister for Defence, Water and Power and Khawaja Asif on Sunday said that the nation was facing irreparable financial loss of billions of rupees due to the sit-ins.

The conspiracies to sabotage the development process of Pakistan would be foiled with the active support of masses, he said. Talking to journalists he said that the long marchers were trying to halt the development process in Pakistan. They were striving to hoodwink the masses through their slogans. Their sole objective was to hinder the foreign investment in the country, he said.

“We are making adequate efforts to bring maximum foreign investment for launching various energy projects, but the sit-ins have caused a loss worth billions of rupees to national exchequer. Their basic objective is to damage the government poltically,” he said.

The minister said that the government was working on various energy projects to provide cheaper electricity to the people but marchers and sit-ins were trying to block this process.

He said that visit of Chinese president was cancelled due to the sit-ins. The protesters wanted to disrupt friendly ties between Pakistan and China, he said. He said that the Chinese investors would invest in projects in Pakistan to generate 10,400 MW electricity.
