‘Pakistan wants closer military ties with Nigeria’

Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu in a meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD – President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday said that Pakistan and Nigeria had the potential to mutually share expertise in diverse fields, including defence, science and technology.

In a meeting with Nigerian Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, he said that the two countries should forge closer military ties especially in areas of training and defence technologies.

He said that Pakistan and Nigeria possessed vast potential for enhancing bilateral trade, which needed to be tapped. He said Pakistan and Nigeria faced common menace of terrorism and in this regard defence cooperation between the two should be further strengthened.

High Commissioner of Nigeria Dauda Dauladi, Defence Secretary Muhammad Alam Khattak, Defence Production Secretary Tanvir Tahir and high officials of the Presidential Secretariat were also present on the occasion.
