Cyclone Nilofar weakens into depression in Arabian Sea

KARACHI: Tropical cyclone Nilofar in Arabian Sea has weakened into a depression and is about 490 km in south-southwest of Karachi.

According to the met department, the depression is almost stationary and likely to further weaken into a “Low Pressure Area” today evening/night then it would move slightly north-westward before dissipation over the water on Saturday.

At present, the estimated average sustained wind speed around is 20-30 Knots gusting up to 40 Knots.

Furthermore, under the influence of this weather system, scattered rain with few heavy falls are expected in lower Sindh and the adjoining coast of Lasbella during the next 24 to 36 hours.

The met department told that the sea conditions along Pakistan coast will remain rough till Saturday and the fishermen of Sindh and Balochistan may resume their activities from Sunday.
