Petrol price slashed by Rs 9.43

ISLAMABAD: The price of petrol has been slashed by Rs 9.43 per litre and the new price will be applicable from midnight.

The price of diesel has been slashed by Rs 6.18 per litre and kerosene oil by Rs 8.16. High-octane has also been decreased by Rs 14.68 per litre.


Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced the decrease in petroleum products during the special federal cabinet meeting.

The prime minister called on chief ministers of all four provinces to ensure that the price of transport fares would decrease and people would be benefited. “The chief ministers and provincial governments should ensure that the benefit of the price decrease reaches people.”

Goods Transporters Decrease Fares

Goods transporters have announced a 5 percent decrease in fares across the country. President Goods Transporters Association, Khalid Khan said the fare from Karachi to Lahore would be decreased by Rs 5,000.

No Transport Fare Decrease in Karachi

The Karachi Transport Ittehad has refused to decrease the price of fares in the city. The transport ittehad states they will consider lowering fares when the price of petrol and diesel decreases to less than Rs 93.
