PM Nawaz condemns alleged irresponsible journalism
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif expressed concerns on Monday over a report claiming to have revealed ‘the inside story’ of the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting.
By: APPThe reaction of the government has come nearly a week after a newspaper published an alleged fabricated story over matters involving national security that were deliberated upon in the last NSC meeting.
The prime minister has condemned the alleged irresponsible journalism today in the meeting. The participants agreed that the story was in violation of universally accepted rules of reportage on matters that involved national security.
Nawaz, among the attendees, went as far as stating that the report had risked the national security. The Print and electronic media was called forth by the attendees to show high standards of reporting and to do away with speculations.
Nawaz, taking action in the matter, instructed the authorities concerned to identify the persons responsible so stern action could be taken against them.
