CM Sindh takes stock of security situation ahead of Ashura

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah underwent a visit to the Command and Control Centre in the city to take stock of the security situation of the metropolis ahead of Ashura, on Tuesday.

According to details, Murad Ali Shah assessed the security situation to monitor the 9th Muharram processions in the city. The Command and Control Centre has been established for the very first time inside the Chief Minister House. More than 900 CCTV cameras have been positioned to provide footage of the routes through which the central Muharram processions will pass.

Murad spoke with IG Sindh, who was at the Muharram procession, via the wireless system set up at the CM House and issued important instructions. He also addressed various deputy commissioners from the districts of Sindh with regard to the security situation of the province ahead of Ashura via video link. He issued special orders to the Chief Secretary Sindh to maintain contact with all commissioners, especially on 9th and 10th Muharram.

He instructed IG Sindh to make maximum use of police vehicles for patrolling and ordered him to personally oversee the security plan with the help of DIGs. Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra visited the Command and Control Centre established in Civic Centre to view the monitoring of the Muharram processions.

9th Muharram processions concluded peacefully throughout the country on Tuesday.
