Govt wants to uplift sports in Pakistan: Pirzada

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada has said that the present government is keen to promoting sports in Pakistan.

The minister was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of national junior snooker training camp at Sports Complex, Islamabad on Monday. He said that the government was playing important role for the promotion of sports in the country and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has great interest in sports.

The minister noted that snooker is very popular in our country and our youngsters are taking great interest in this game. Appreciating the role of Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association, he said that it is very positive that our junior players of snookers will be trained by qualified foreign snooker coach from our brotherly country Iran.

He urged that the youth to actively participate in games and the players who deliver will be rewarded. Later talking to media persons, he said that the incumbent government wants to uplift sports in the country and a conference will be held soon for the betterment of sports.
