FAISALABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that it was pertinent to get Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign.

While addressing the participants, the PTI chairman asserted that it would not take long from now onwards to realise the dream of naya Pakistan. Prime Minister Nawaz should fear the passion people of Faisalabad have to stand against the alleged corrupt government, he said.

He said that a corrupt man destroyed the ideology of the nation and that he was not able to hold people accountable for their wrongdoings. He said that Nawaz was destroying the country to cover his corruption and that institutions were bound to get destroyed if the leader was corrupt.

However, he said that the PTI would make Pakistan a country that was envisioned by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder. Imran warned the government of strong reaction if the government put workers behind bars over November 2 the sit-in in Islamabad.

Earlier, the PTI chairman talked to the media outside Supreme Court (SC) and said that it was a big day today in the history of Pakistan’s democracy as the court summoned the prime minister in disqualification case. He said that the apex court played its role by assuring to give justice and that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) were required to investigate the issue.

Staging peaceful protest was the party’s constitutional right, if denied justice, he added. The statement had come in after SC issued notices to the Nawaz, his two sons, Hassan and Hussain in the Panama leak case.

PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami Muslim League (AML) in their petitions had urged the apex court to set up a commission to investigate the Panama leak against Nawaz’s family.
