Interior minister threatens to resign after being barred entry in judicial complex
Minister lashes out at rangers for blocking entry, vows to take action

ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal was left fuming after he was denied entry in the accountability court by Rangers personnel on Monday and threatened to resign if he is only to act as a ‘puppet minister', the minister was there to attend Nawaz Sharif’s hearing at Islamabad’s judicial complex.

It is unclear on whose orders the federal minister was not granted entry in the premises.

The minister stated that until morning, I was informed that the chief commissioner was handling all the security detail, but when I showed up at the judicial complex, Rangers had taken security matters in their own hands upon someone’s orders.

The minister remarked that Ranger’s come under the federal interior ministry and that he had to take notice of this situation, that on what basis, did his subordinates deny him entry into the judicial complex.

The minister was fired up while talking to media outside the complex and stated that “Two states cannot work parallel within a state."

He also stated that if the Ranger’s had ignored the chief commissioner’s orders and enforced themselves on the security matters than strict action will be taken against whoever made this disrespectful move.
