Islamabad - Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party (PDJP), a political party of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry on Wednesday filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) against Nawaz Sharif for his 'criticism of the judges and judiciary' in a speech given out on Tuesday.

PDJP vice president Ahsanul Din Sheikh submitted the petition, which said, “Nawaz Sharif has not accepted the Supreme Court’s verdict against him for which he has now resolved to criticize the judiciary and judges in his speeches”.

The petition further mentions, “ That the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) chairman Absar Alam has failed to do his duty effectively, for which SC should hold him and PML-N leader Nawaz in contempt”.
