Altaf urges PAT, PTI to postpone sit-ins to help flood victims

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain on Friday appealed to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir ul Qadri to postpone ‘Azadi and Inquilaab Marches’ and help flood affected people.

According to a statement issued here, MQM chief Altaf Hussain requested the government to release all the arrested protesters as a goodwill gesture, adding that government should only focus on the restoration of flood affected people.

He further said that torrential rains and floods have turned into natural disaster for the country. Hussain added that the conflicting parties should leave all the issues and start relief work for the rain hit areas.

At least 50 people mostly women and children have been killed in different incidents of roof collapses in Punjab province during the last 48 hours while in Azad Kashmir the toll stands over 30.
