Court orders FIR against Sharifs, ministers, IGPs

ISLAMABAD – A district and sessions court on Monday ordered registration of first information report (FIR) against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his brother Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, federal ministers and police chiefs of Punjab and Islamabad.
Judge Raja Jawad issued orders while hearing a case regarding killing of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers. During hearing of the case, police submitted a report regarding deaths of the PAT workers in the red zone.
At which, the judge accepted the PAT's request for filing FIR against the prime minister and other high-ups. The court ordered the police to book the prime minister, the chief minister, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Railways Minister Saad Rafique, the police chiefs in an FIR that includes sections of murder and terrorism.
