Ex-CJ all set to file case against Imran
INP

ISLAMABAD – Legal team of former chief justice of the Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that preparations have been made to file case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Lawyers of ex-CJ said affidavit of Imran Khan's response and copy of the case decision had also been obtained. Legal team had maintained the stance that Imran Khan could not withdraw his letter of apology once it had been submitted and there was no provision in the constitution that allows the withdrawal of a response once it had been submitted in the court.

Imran Khan had been served a defamation notice of Rs 20 billion by Justice (retired) Iftikhar Chaudhry. In response to the notice the PTI chairman had taken a rather apologetic stance and had acknowledged the services of the former chief justice.
