Joint sessions remained useless, says Imran

ISLAMABAD: Infuriated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Sunday continued his diatribe against the incumbent democratic set up and lambasted joint session of Parliament which he said did not take up any issue related to public miseries.
Delivering a short speech to his workers at D-Chowk of the capital atop his container, PTI chairman said that a series of parliament’s joint sessions were useless as matters pertaining to people’s interests were not discussed. He claimed that Rs80,000 per minute were spent for holding this session. He greeted Islamabad sit inners that no one could stop creation of ‘Naya Pakistan’. “True people’s representatives would rule “Naya Pakistan”.
Imran maintained that his movement would continue unless Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stepped down. He said he has no personal grudge against Nawaz Sharif but he is only against the incumbent system. “I am against the system of dynasty….I am against the system which made ruling elite rich and leaves the national poor,” Khan said.
He once again asked Nawaz Sharif to step down for a month so that investigation into alleged vote rigging could be conducted in transparent manner. “Nawaz unless you resign, this campaign won t end” he said. “He is grateful that the people of Pakistan have awakened,” Khan noted.
Referring to a statement of Governor Punjab Chaudry Sarwar, Khan paid tribute to him and said he was happy with his statement. He said Governor has said true that corruption was ruling the roost and situation was very bad even ministers were involved in corruption.
PTI chairman also warned Prime Minister to avoid visiting Neo-York to attend UN and said there would be a bad welcome for him by the Pakistanis living abroad. He also announced to soon hold a sit in at Lahore and he would announce the date today (Monday).
