President arrives in China on four-day official visit

BEIJING: President Mamnoon Hussain has left for China on a four-day official visit where he will meet the country’s leadership and attend an event related to China’s victory in World War II.The president was received by China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong and high officials of the Chinese government at the Beijing International Airport. Pakistan ‘s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid and senior officials of the embassy were also present on the occasion. The President was accompanied by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Begum Mehmooda Mamnoon Hussain.During his stay in Beijing, the president will attend a military parade commemorating China ‘s 70th anniversary of victory against Japanese aggression in World War II.He will hold meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and will discuss issues of mutual interest. He will also attend a dinner hosted by President Xi, which will be joined by other heads of state and governments.The president will also meet China’s Executive Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, and will also address academicians and representatives of think tanks at a luncheon hosted by Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).President Mamnoon will interact with the Chinese media and highlight the importance of Sino-Pak bilateral relations.
