DJ Butt indicted in case of loudspeaker ban violation
INP

ISLAMABAD – A court in Islamabad indicted on Thursday Muhammad Asif Nazar aka DJ Butt for violating a ban on loudspeakers in the capital during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sit-in last year.

During the hearing, DJ Butt whose beats punctuated political rhetoric during the PTI’s sit-in against alleged rigging in 2013 general elections denied charges. Following this, the court asked the accused to produce evidence on September 10 to support his statement.

Speaking to reporters outside the court, DJ Butt said that the court told him he had caused nuisance for Islamabad residents as he played music in the Parliament Lodges and D-Chowk during the political activity.

On August 24, Assistant Commissioner Waqas Rasheed approved pre-arrest bail for DJ Butt after he appeared before the court.
