Qadri vows not to compromise on Model Town massacre

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said on Saturday that he would never compromise over the blood of the innocent who had been killed in the Model Town massacre, more than two years ago.

Taking to the microphone after Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad had finished his speech, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri felicitated the participants of the rally for their sacrifices. The PAT chief was all praises for Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and labeled him as 'Allama-e-Siyasat'.

"My supporters and workers are my life and my respect," he said. "I arrived in Rawalpindi bearing in mind the sacrifices that you have rendered. Seeing this sea of people today has given my heart peace," he said.

Tahir-ul-Qadri said that this movement was divided into three phases, the first of which was his address to supporters via video link. He said that there were remaining two rounds or phases of the movement left which were in his hands.

"I can initiate these remaining two phases of the movement any time," warned the cleric. "We do not have characters such as those named in the Panama Papers, we have only political workers at our disposal," he said.

Tahir-ul-Qadri said there were two options available. One was leading towards Jati Umra and the other towards Islamabad.

He also addressed army chief General Raheel Sharif and reminded him of his promise to provide justice for the victims of the Model Town incident to the families of the deceased.

"General Raheel Sharif, who will ensure justice when you are here no more?" he asked.

Qadri said that there were false reports circulating that he had made a deal with the government. The PAT chief stated vehemently that no compromise would be made over the blood of the innocent who had been killed in the Model Town incident.

Qadri alleged that there were between 200-300 Indians working in the mills owned by Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif.

"How many of these actually belong to the Indian intelligence agency," he said. "Visas to these Indians were provided by Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif.
