PM Nawaz commends Pakistan’s military, urges India to end violence in Kashmir

NEW YORK: On Monday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly urged India to stop violation of human rights in Kashmir and spoke highly of Pakistan's progress in terms of political and economic stability while speaking to the Pakistani community in New York. Nawaz took a firm stance when it came to the issue of Kashmir. The Pakistani Premier said that the youth of Kashmir had injected life and soul into the Kashmiris' movement for freedom and self-determination.

He urged India to pay heed to the voice of Kashmiris and respect their wishes. He said that the Pakistani government will continue to support the Kashmiris' right to self-determination on every level and platform.

Nawaz later expounded over Pakistan's economic progress and said that Pakistan had performed well ever since he took the reins of the country. He hailed Pakistani armed forces for rendering invaluable sacrifices against terrorists and pushed them beyond borders, he said that the world was viewing Pakistan as stable politically and with regard to economy, as a strong country.

Nawaz Sharif also spoke about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and termed it as an economic game changer for the country as well as for the entire region. He said that the whole region would benefit from the economic corridor that would be built from China to Pakistan. He said that the ultimate priority of his government was to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the government had launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the National Action Plan with the consensus of the whole nation.

Nawaz Sharif will hold meetings with key leaders on Monday and also address the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday.
