Sindh Assembly likely to pass resolution against MQM founder

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly is likely to adopt resolution against MQM founder over his provocative and anti-Pakistan statements on August 22, which led to violence and attack on media house.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) submitted separately while Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Muslim League Functional jointly submitted identical resolutions against MQM founder in Sindh Assembly Secretariat.

Khair-un-Nisa and Khurram Sher Zaman submitted the resolutions on behalf of PPP and PTI respectively.

PTI’s motion condemns MQM founder’s August 22 provocative and anti-Pakistan speech and demands treason case against him.

The identical resolution submitted by PPP states that MQM founder violated Article 6 of the constitution.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Muslim League Functional lawmakers also jointly submitted resolution against MQM founder in the Sindh Assembly Secretariat.

The resolution submitted by parliamentary leader of Functional League Nadar Kumar was endorsed by Nusrat Sehar Abbasi of his party and Shafi Jamot and other lawmakers from PML-N.

They demanded Sindh and Federal governments to try MQM leader under article 6.

The resolutions are likely to be presented in the provincial assembly on Wednesday with most probably adopted by the house.
