Irum Farooque warns Wasay Jalil over threats

KARACHI: Irum Azeem Farooque, who resigned from his provincial assembly seat after 22 August controversy has accused Mustafa Azizabadi of faking Altaf Hussain’s voice to threat party leaders.

While talking to Geo News from US, where she is living with her family said those who recognize Altaf Hussain’s voice can easily differentiate between his style and sound and the voice in audio message sent to MQM Pakistan leaders.

Also, even if the message was recorded in London, then there should not have been any bus horn as it is a crime in London, she noted.

While replying to a question regarding her resignation from Sindh Assembly, she said, “I have made up my mind to quit, I wanted to serve my country but things changed and I cannot work with people who denounce the country.”

‘Since August 22, things are happening at a very fast pace and I am unable to think over or review my decision to resign from Assembly.’

“I am receiving threatening messages from MQM London leaders, she claimed. ‘Wasay Jalil I warn you, you are a US citizen and I can file complaint against you as I did against MQM America chief.’

Supporting Farooq Sattar-led MQM, she said there are some good people in the party and they must be allowed to serve the people. “I am with MQM Pakistan,” Azeem added.

She requested Pakistan government to block Twitter accounts of London based MQM leaders as they are defaming Pakistan. They must not be allowed to appear on TV as well, she demanded.

“If Mustafa Kamal’s agenda is same as that of MQM Pakistan, then I think they should join hands for the larger interest of the nation.”
