SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday said that the law and order situation of the city has improved a lot in recent months.

While addressing a press conference, the CM warned the corrupt officers that they would not be forgiven at any cost as they are the masses’ servants. He said that his government was giving special attention to the development projects but to achieve these objectives, funds are needed – for which the province was negotiating with the federal government.

The chief minister said that Sindh was being unnecessarily criticised over Thar issue, despite the fact that his government has provided sufficient health facilities in Tharparkar district. In this regard, he informed of installing 400 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in Thar – one plant was supplying sweet drinking water to 10,000 people.

He further said that best healthcare facilities had been provided for the Mithi district headquarters hospital with air-conditioned rooms and 24 incubators – which were not even available in Karachi in such a large number. Besides, he said, mobile dispensaries were also provided while 49 basic health units were set-up to provide health facilities round the clock.

Murad said that local body representatives would be given due funds so that they can serve the people in better way. Sukkur is a beautiful city, he said and added that steps would be taken to maintain its beauty.

He urged the locals population to play their role for the development of the region at individual level as the chief minister cannot do alone everything. To a question, he said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has disowned its founder.

National Assembly’s Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Provincial Ministers for Transport and Education – Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Jam Mehtab Dahar respectively – also accompanied the chief minister.
