Ghinwa says world must act against terrorism
by Jamal Dawoodpoto

LARKANA: Pakistan People's Party Shaheed Bhutto Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto said on Wednesday that it was not the responsibility of Pakistan alone to root out terrorism rather the world needed to act to wipe out the menace.

Addressing a public meeting to observe the death anniversary of her husband Mir Murtaza Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux on Wednesday, Pakistan People's Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto said that China, Iran, Russia and India would have to make joint efforts to tackle the problem. She flayed former prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif for "negotiating" with terrorists. The PPP-SB chairperson was of the view that Pakistan should never have cooperated with the US when former president George W Bush initiated what he called "The War on Terror", stating that the long list of terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including the Army Public School (APS) massacre in Peshawar and the many terror attacks in Sindh, would not have happened had the country given the same reply to Bush that it recently gave to United States President Donald Trump. Ghinwa expressed her satisfaction over the country's current foreign policy, which she said had become more inclined towards China, Russia and Iran instead of America.

She stated that the country was facing several issues like poverty, unemployment, lack of education and healthcare because of the corruption of previous governments and claimed that the PPP, a party originally founded by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, was being used by some people for their vested interests. The PPP-SB chairman stated that no coalition would be formed in the upcoming general elections and that the party would contest the elections by itself.
