Wake up, Pakistani

Do you want Pakistan to be turned
into a desert? Doesn’t the construction
of the Baglihar Dam perturb you? Why is no voice
raised against the project? Why are the Pakistani
newspapers quiet on this critical issue? Why is
India bent on robbing Pakistan of its legitimate
share of water?
This issue needs to be raised at every forum.
Jinnah Sahib understood the Hindu mind well. And
Amitah Bachan said it all very well: Ram Ram sepna,
pariah mal apna.
Pakistan was created by all the Muslims of the
subcontinent. Its destined role to lead the Ummah.
Period. Strength is strength. We need to educate
the whole Pakistani nation. There is no other
way and there is not much time. Pakistani Americans
should please realize that the time to work and
make a qualitative change is now: a concrete politico-economic
program is needed and a do and don’t scheme
is to be chalked out for execution by Pakistani
Americans and overseas Pakistanis.
Let the university professors, think tanks, intellectuals,
writers, poets take the lead and get involved
in this task. Nobody should be ignored. Nobody
should feel left out.
You do matter, your voice matters, your opinion
matters, your efforts matter. We all have a role
to play at this critical juncture.
