Musharraf
and Benazir Act like Leaders

Any reconciliation between Benazir and the military
dictator Musharraf must be welcomed. Pakistan
needs a healing touch. However, I urge upon these
two to act like leaders. State your positions
and negotiate. Let the nation decide who is acting
in the people's interest.
I do not understand why Musharraf is acting like
a thief, flying to Dubai to meet with Benazir
and then his cronies making emphatic denials.
Musharraf, a ruthless dictator, a commando by
profession is acting like Ali Baba as head of
a gang of forty thieves.
I always had low opinion about Musharraf as a
military general and as a dictator, now my opinion
about him as a man is even diminished. Why does
he need "stealth" approach in dealing
with politicians, unless he is planning something
sinister against the Pakistani people.
Musharraf! Deal like a dignified person.
