Obama, BB and Nawaz

Presidential candidates would sell their mothers if that would get them in the White House. That is in reference to Obama's declaration of intent to attack Pakistani territory if the natives did not take appropriate steps to combat terrorism. The poor man only wanted to get an edge over Hillary and did not know any better.
I have castigated BB for trying to make a deal with Musharraf if only he would take off his uniform for her.
No I am not practicing double standards. Pakistanis are far more politically conscious and their leaders have to be judged at a far higher standard. Talk to a bunch of US-born and trained physicians and general public. I have, and you will find them more backward than even the NS, BB, Mush and fundamentalists among the Pak doctors and other expatriates .
I watched ARY news yesterday. Mush was meeting his MQM team and declaring that he will get re-elected by the current assembly and will not take his uniform off for BB's pleasure. He, it would seem, continues to have the unstinted support of his patrons and his military constituency. His minions have dropped hints that imposition of emergency could not be taken off the table.
If BB and Maulana Diesel have any sense they will keep the opposition ranks united.
"Tumhara naam mitt jai ga…"
Aitzaz, for his and the country's sake should let go of BB's dupatta. She is so annoyed with the limelight he has been enjoying that she finds it unpleasant to utter his name. He should remember that her father ZAB had his mentors beaten and his supporters jailed.
So far among the opposition leaders only NS has shown a steadfast character. One cannot really blame him for signing a ten-year exile agreement. He had the precedent of Bhutto - a far more potent and popular leader - murdered.
The fact that he hounded a CJ from office is neither here nor there. He had examples of the judges meekly signing away their independence - starting with CJ Munir in 1954.
Why and how CJ Iftikhar, a Mush-appointee and signatory of all documents Mush wanted, stood up to the dictator is a mystery.
