Mushahid Speaks
on Ideal Leadership

Speaking on the subject of
'Role of Leadership in a Dynamic Environment'
organized by the Muhammad Ali Jinnah University,
Mr. Mushahid Hussain mentioned that history showed
that nations blessed with wise and prudent leaders
not only excelled in every field during the time
of great leaders but their present generations
also reaped the fruits of progress and development.
Giving the example of Mr. Jinnah, he pinned his
hopes on ideal leadership. He also said, "Success
is not a one-man show.”
If I were present in the audience, I would have
asked him that with such a statement wasn’t
he excluding Gen Musharaf from the list of successful
leaders? After all, the General has been single-handedly
running the show by making himself the crucial
critical mass. I would have also asked him as
to what his definition of an ‘Ideal Leader’
was and whether any of the incumbent leaders of
Pakistan fell in that definition? I wonder what
would have been his answer!
