From
the hectic political activity going on openly
and at places not so openly between various political
parties, and political leaders, between the leaders
and the government, between the government and
the governments abroad as well as powerful foreign
socio-political and socio-economic organisations,
each one trying to exert pressure and its ‘charm’
over the other to advance its own specific agenda,
the “Mother of the Elections” in the
year 2007 certainly promises to be one of the
most crucial elections in this part of the world.
It has certainly generated one heck of an activity
and almost everyone has something to say for or
against some issue concerning these elections.
However, not all can find an outlet to give vent
to their feelings. A web portal www.elections.com.pk
has, therefore, been designed to provide all and
sundry, including the political parties, government,
agencies and others with a platform on AN EQUAL
OPPORTUNITY basis without discrimination of any
kind - political, religious, ethnic, parochial,
linguistic or regional etc. to reach out to the
masses - local as well as abroad - to project
their views and comments on various issues concerning
the elections.
Coupled with the information placed by the political
parties, the intelligentsia, the writers and the
intellectuals from the general public would also
project their views on various aspects of the
ensuing elections and the issue involved. Patriotic
and sincere experts, journalists and analyst would
also keep watch and monitor closely the activities
of the government officials at all levels, the
agencies, the media and that of the political
parties on the various spheres of the elections
and present the viewers with an all encompassing
true picture of the pre-, during- and post- election
activities of all concerned to ensure a Free,
Fair and Transparent Elections for ushering in
an era of true democracy in the country which
has been alluding us for such a long time.
