Khan’s Tears

While the government was busy destroying GEO’s
office, which was unfolding live coverage of events,
I saw an otherwise calm Kamran Khan getting emotional
as Hamid Mir went on detailing police brutality.
He was trying unsuccessfully to control his tears.
He had to discontinue the live coverage.
I want to tell Kamran Khan that the whole nation
shared his sorrow at the moment when freedom of
speech, independence of press, impartiality of
judiciary and dictatorship of the present regime,
was on the anvil.
