An Advice to Asif Zardari
By Dr. Ghayur Ayub
London, UK

Mr. Asif Zardari is short of advisors; nevertheless, I feel obliged to give him one, especially after having  had acquaintance with him in 1992-1993, when the police used to bring him handcuffed to PIMS. My sincere advice to him would be to make Aitzaz Ahsan, who is a well-respected politician, the candidate for premiership. Amin Fahim, being a mature politician, would not mind the change. The decision would produce wholesome results:
It would help erase anti-Punjabi feelings creeping up in the ranks and files of the PPP after BB’s sad demise.
It would get support from lawyers community who feel betrayed by the PPP.
It would reiterate the slogan of PPP being the symbol of the federation.
It would send a positive signal to those 61 judges who refused to take oath under the new PCO.
It would send  an encouraging message to civil society, students, print and electronic media which were left confused by the policies of the PPP.
It would make Asif Zardari look taller politically.
